The Bridging Scholarships support overseas study in Japan for American undergraduate students. Offered by the Association of Teachers of Japanese, 100 scholarships are awarded each year. Successful applicants will receive $2,500 for semester-long study abroad or $4,000 for a full year. Students need not have prior Japanese language experience.
- Eligibility: Applicants must be US citizens or permanent residents who are enrolled in a US undergraduate institution prior to and during the study abroad. Bridging scholarships may not apply for overseas study during the summer. Students majoring in all areas of study are welcome.
- Deadline: Applications are accepted twice per year. The deadline for overseas study for the Fall 2009 semester is April 6, 2009.
