The Claremont National Scholars program is offered by Claremont Graduate University for doctoral students who are pursuing interdisciplinary studies. The program encourages students to transcend disciplinary boundaries while working towards a Ph.D in any of the subjects offered by Claremont Graduate University's graduate schools, including Arts and Humanities, Behavioral and Organizational Sciences, Community and Global Health, Educational Studies, Information Systems and Technology, Management, Mathematical Sciences, Politics and Economics, and Religion.
The program awards full tuition and a $20,000 annual stipend to several students who have achieved at about the summa cum laude level.
- Eligibility: Candidates should have or expect to have a bachelor's or master's degree from a US college or university by Fall of the year that they enter the program. Candidates should also have achieved a high level of academic success, particularly in regards to interdisciplinary research.
- Deadline: Applications must be postmarked by December 1, 2008 in order to begin full-time doctoral study in Fall of 2009.
